Default Running CDJ's with Xone 92 + Ableton FX.

    Hi!
I wanna use Ableton FX through my Send/Return option on my Xone 92 Mixer. How can i sync the Midi - Tempo from Xone to Ableton?

I would suggest the best way would be to beatmatch Ableton Live manually. Map a couple of MIDI buttons as tempo bend in Live.

Unless youve got a very low latency soundcard (RME), youre going to get latency between the CDJS and Live which will make live mixing impossible and make using delays in sync very difficult.

    - Your audio hits the mixer from the cdjs
    - Is sent through FX Loop
    - FX loop goes to a soundcard connected to a pc which performs analogue to digital conversion
    - Live adds fx to the audio
-Live sends the audio back through the soundcard performing a digital to analogue conversion which then comes back through your mixer.

While all of this is happening, your CDJ audio is still going, while the effected return audio takes time to come back because of the processing.

Pros who use this setup usually have RME soundcards with a dedicated computer to mitigate the latency.

Like I said... beatmatch by ear. In fact, that's what Richie Hawtin does, even with a RME Fireface. As long as the laptop is properly set up, internal clock should be pretty reliable so you get minimal drift in tempo. Hell, you'll have the current track BPM flashing up on the CDJs, so you could manually type it in, hit play, then push/pull the metronome into place.

You need to use tempo bend in live.

Wouldn't Decoding Pioneer Pro Link: Connect CDJs To Ableton Link work to keep Ableton Live in time and phase with the CDJs?

Honestly? It's not worth the hassle considering how low effort keeping it manually in time would be.

It is, but you would still need to use beat nudge in live due to the latency from software to dac.
