At a guess, it should be OK, being USB class compliant and Core Audio.

\Thanks , dan however it was greyed out in OS X preferences when I upgraded to Sierra. I could not choose it at all.
I had to switch back to El Capitan.

That doesn't sound right. If it's compliant (and I think it is since there's no driver download for macOS), It'll work. What exactly is greyed out?

The ability to assign 1&2 and 3 outputs in the midi preferences.

If you go into Applications > utilities > audio midi setup

Click on your Soundcard in the left column (USB audio codec or similar)

Click on output in the right column. In the format section you should have a ton of options like 4 ch 16bit integer. The selection might be wrong or not selected currently.

I have to change this manually every time with any new class compliant multichannel soundcards and might be the problem.

Well, I upgraded to high sierra without a hitch. I didn't have to adjust anything in either traktor or Application utilities.
    High Sierra did it automagically
