I am looking for something new to get, I like the new Denon SC5000/X1800 kit but the idea of not having the laptop connected is something I can't bring myself to accept. I just like working on the laptop, getting the music, organising it all there and not have to export/save on a separate drive and just drag a tune to play (I never plan mixes and like to see the full library and pick a suitable tune to play).
I enjoy using samples and loops in my mixes, nothing too extreme or intense like the S8 or new Pioneer DJS1000, but just a few samples here and there to launch and add to the mix.
My question is, should i stay clear of Decks and go for controllers? They seem to be a better fit for what I need, and can anyone recommend a very good controller (ideally that works with Traktor or Rekordbox as i already have those but if i need to move to another software, its fine) I can purchase? I have a budget of 4k that i got from selling my old decks.
Thank you in advance.
