Default Adding LEDS to a Sanwa Button

Hello all, I'm building a MidiFighter type device and I'm looking for suggestions on how/where to place the LEDs. I bought some small neopixels but I'm also down to use some 3mm LEDS. I saw someone used a board mounted solution, but I'm trying to avoid having a giant board and just use wired connections to it. Any ideas or links to things would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time!

Anyone have any ideas? I have to finish my PCB design this week for class. Thanks!

    Have fun: https://sourceforge.net/projects/mid...?source=navbar

That project refers to the original Midi Fighter with monochrome LEDs which, since OBSF buttons were used instead of OBSC some small light pipes were mounted to reflect the LED state on the top. There's also the board schematics which you can use as reference, even if you are wiring it.

Thank you so much for that info! I'm still not sure where I'm going to mount them, I'm thinking about just getting some seperate PCB mounted NeoPixels, chaining them together and using adhesive, placing them on the sides of the buttons (I have the OBSC Sanwa Buttons). I'm using a Teensy 3.2 as my controller however, so I still need to figure out how to get a steady 5v to them, I was thinking about using a voltage regulator.

I see in the MFv1 Scematic the buttons have a 10k resistor attached to VCC and the other pin of the button goes to ground. In my super simple arduino examples, the resistor is attached to the ground pin for the button. Does anyone know if this will make any noticable difference? Should I change my placement?

    Thanks again!

These look great! Unfortunately they're out of stock, hopefully they'll re-up soon. Thanks so much for the link!
