Default Using Traktor with a brass band :)

Hey all, wanted to share a short vid of myself performing with a brass band using Traktor

    https://www.facebook.com/datbrassuk/...2569345518480/

The above cover version of Dj Zinc Sharp shooter actually started out as a battle routine I made for the IDA World finals 2016 (Show category) long before I even met the band, 12 months later and Im in the studio recording a live brass band version

The little edit below best explains the random journey how I joined the band/how a battle routine turned into full live cover version.

    https://www.facebook.com/DjDubbaDutc...6591892116071/

Traktor has proved a powerful tool for performing with a band, I use individual RMX sets for each song filled with samples for the specific track, RMX decks gives me ability to key lock one RMX track/cells so melodic sample remain in key with band (despite tempo changes) and then I have have other cells in the RMX set with key lock off so I can have realistically pitched scratching with vocal/rap samples in those RMX cells.

I use a lot tempo synced sentences/phrases to scratch with, but as a band track tempos obviously switch up from show to show, I rely on the master clock tap tempo to keep my synced RMX sets and Traktor fx in time with the bands tempo, which is a god send as doing it manually would be near on impossible.

As the bands scratch dj I mostly I do the scratch chorus thing, but we've got two proper dj vs band tracks like the sharp shooter cover. I also really enjoy using traktor fx to create riser build ups which add a whole new dimension to the bands sound, so much fun

    Nice one dudes

Here's an edit of some of the shows we did at last years Bestival. There's a handful of examples showing how I use traktor fx to create risers in song breakdowns etc..
