They sure made it sound that way:

In 2018 we will unveil new Traktor hardware and software ...
We have engaged in rewriting Traktor from ground-up, ...
There are more updates to Traktor Pro planned in the coming months.
It seemed like this “new software” would be the rewrite, and not just another Traktor Pro update.

Does anybody know if the new hardware will be just as unmappable as the D2/S5/S8 series?

I just hope they don't make that same mistake again.

I just bought a new S2MK2 to replace my first generation S4 - pretty bleak right now - why no 'early' release news on the new hardware? Jus' sayin'......

I can't imagine it would be.

I don't have any real reason to believe I'm right, but it seems like the reason for that on the D2/S5/S8 was the screens...you map things far enough away and you just don't get the information you need on the screens (without a lot of effort). I think it's worth it because I like what those controllers do. But something more normal seems like there's no reason for those problems.

Hardware isn't coming out for a few weeks. How early do you want?

Early enough to maybe influence your selection of hardware - I was replacing a well-used and much-loved S4 - I could have held out a little longer for the new S2. In my opinion a 'better' machine than the MK2.

They can't give you indefinite notice about what might be on the horizon. If you're still in your returns period, do that.

If your purchase was withink the last 3 months, return it. Otherwise, place everything all nice and neat back in the original packaging and sell in like new condition for a 20% discount.
