Default Simplest software for loading samples onto a midi fighter

I'm a decent finger drummer, but know nothing about the software side of electronic music. I don't need a crazy editing software for looping and mixing. I'm not going to be djing anything.
I just want to map pads to instrument sounds (and possibly stack sounds) and then play them with my hands. It would be nice to alter the pitch, reverb, etc, but still super basic. I tried abelton for a few days and was completely overwhelmed.
What software is the simplest to use? (probably with a midi fighter 3d)
and/or is there a quick start tutorial that skips the complicated parts and just shows me where to find sounds, save sounds, and map sounds?
    Thanks guys!

You're gonna have to do some learning, mate. And Ableton probably is your best bet.

It can do everything that you'll need to be able to do. Ableton can be as simple or complex as you need/want it to be.

Seriously - learn Ableton. You can make it as easy as dropping samples into a 4x4 session view grid, or get into Drum Racks for some more complex/creative finger drumming.
