Help with transferring a NI Maschine Serial.

So I have an original NI maschine that I was hoping to give to a friend.
On NI's license transfer page it tells me I'm not allowed to transfer the license for the product.
I talked to support and they basically said that I should throw away the maschine.
Anyone have any advice on getting this serial transferred or had the same situation?
This experience has guaranteed I'll never buy a NI product again!
