free upgrade for ableton users

i think the problems with 8.1 crashing paired with the horrible state of the forums have driven them to do this. seems like their reputation was starting to get hurt!

Maybe this is why ableton crashes every time it's running and I switch to a different window? I hope so. :/

About time, darn it! Live 8.1 crashes on me maybe once every session, and especially when I crop or consolidate clips. This has made me move back to Reason 4 for my production.

Live 8 made some pretty major additions so its a no brainer that they were going to run into some issues, having to make a public apology is pretty major though !

its not really a free update though is it... of course it should be free - it's just a 8.x bug fix, not a new version.

good that they posted that though - MUCH better customer service than some companies (ahem steinberg)
