Default Katapult, a Traktor mapping for the Novation Launchpad

Cool piece of software, an active mapping for the Novation Launchpad that allows it to interact with Traktor. It has all the basics, with 16 pages of controls available, and it also allows for controls to be linked, giving you smart faders.

$25 for the software, finally the Launchpad is remappable in a useful way!

check out the feature request section .. if all of that stuff gets in .. this will be mind blowing. unfortunately there isnt really a public traktor mapping that even uses todays feature set in a well thought out manner. i never got around to implement my concept that i posted in the layout section either yet

Usher called - he said OMG.

My journey went a little something like this:

    • Picked up a Korg NanoKontrol a little over a year ago - got a $50 discount coupon for Ableton Live LE
    • Finally caved in and downloaded the Ableton 8 demo, liked it and the 100 YouTube demo videos I watched (figuratively)
    • Decided that Live 8 Intro was enough to for me to have fun with Renoise (mod tracker)
    • Took a guess that my $50 Live LE coupon code would work with Live Intro - correct! Picked it up for $50.

I had to go out and get a LaunchPad for Ableton, especially after seeing it interact with Renoise. Now I see this post and my copy of Traktor just got a little more interesting.

    Thanks! (insert thumbs-up smiley here)

If anyone is still on the fence about Katapult, it's on sale for $12.95 for the summer months. I just brought a license a couple of days ago and I haven't been to sleep before 3 AM since.

I have this working with Renoise using a 8x8 grid that allows me to mute individual tracks within patterns. Also have some sliders working to control my VST's parameters. These are just the first two pages - there are 16 in all and there's a ton of things that can be mapped.

Renoise needs just one additional feature - MIDI feedback. Once that gets in, it's game over. For less than $300, you essentially have a Monome plus the controller works with all of the basics (Ableton, Traktor, etc.).
