Default 2 x Korg Nanopad Mod = Midifighter???

Would it be possible to buy two of the korg nanopads, and converting it to a midifighter? my reason for this is the local music store is selling them for $30 a pop to get rid of them considering the new version just came out.

I don't have too much experience in hardware modding, but i'm just wondering if anyone has done something similar and the amount of work involved in converting it?

    Thankyou(:

someone asked almost the same question just yesterday i think. physically it's probably possible.

you wont be able to make it work like a midi fighter in 4 banks mode for mappings like the "instant gratification" tho unless you use some software between the 2 nanos and traktor to send different notes depending on which bank you're in.

so depends on "how like" a midifighter you want them to be.

The thing with the nano's is that you can reprogram what midi value is parsed when a key is pressed with the korg program, so you could somehow reprogram the keys to the midifighter map.

Not sure if i would be able to do it or not, but it would be a pretty cool idea i think

sure - i know you can reprogram them to send out different data but it can only be one thing per pad unless you use the internal banks in the nanopad itself to emulate the different banks in the midifighter in 4banks mode.

but for that if you were using 2 nano's you'd need to switch them on both and keep them in sync etc.

a nano will work fine for a MF clone in normal mode tho - which is the mode used by the deckalized mapping - just not the instant grat one.

or... if you have 2 nano lined up to in effect give you 6x4 pads you will have 8 pads spare that you could map to part of a diff bank ofc.

These are for midi fighter classic mappings ported onto nanoPAD2. And guess what Instant Gratification and Decadized mappings are in process. Do you wanna beta test the upcoming mappings? Check out above page to know more...

A padKontrol from Korg as well would be an ideal solution for this, you can also use the touchpad for FX controls
