Default Wireless PS2 Controller for basic controlling

Just a quick idea. I think that it would be really cool to have a wireless PS2 controller (i have 4 downstairs in my PS2) and was wondering if i could somehow use that to control traktor at a basic level (so i wouldnt have to be behind the decks at a house party or similar + it would be really awesome)? I have seen people using HID to MIDI programs, and i assume that would still work with a wireless controller and adapter.

If all that could work - How do these HID to MIDI programs work. Would it need to be running in the background?

    Thankyou (:

It's simple to do, if you already have a way to get your PS2 controllers to your PC, depending on how they connect to your PS2, I assume it's a dongle that plugs in your PS2 pad port? That will be a long winded way. Buy a PS3 pad and bluetooth dongle, then you can use Joy2Key and bome's MIDI translator.

EDIT: In fact, you might be able to skip Joy2Key, I think Bome's can pick up joypad presses.

if that converts to generic usb then yep that should work - i know nothing about the ps3 really.

then the same goes - choose whatever software you want/need to convert the hid output to midi.

plenty of different software to choose from via this sticky http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2862
