Default playing music "thru" controller soundcard

Hey guys, does anyone know if it is possible to play music (say directly from itunes) through the soundcard on a digital controller (such as the s4) onto the speakers connected to the controller without using traktor pro2 software?

i bought a pair of krk's and am wishing that i could also utilize them with my desktop (right beside my controller set up which uses my laptop)

basically i wanna be able to play music on my krk's from 2 sources (computer and laptop; where only one has traktor installed).. i cant just connect extra wires to the desktop cause the krks dont accept 3.5mm

    thanks

    Yes you can

    Depending on the OS Windows/Mac

on Windows right click on your speaker icon on the task tray right click and select playback devices...then click on master of the S4.

Mac i dont know but there should be similar options on a mac.

I dont care if you use 2 ipads...2 cassette tapes...or a washboard and a wooden spoon...if you rock it, you rock it.

I set my mac to use my s4 as my main sound card. Just go into system preferences and click sound and it'll be in there. Simple.

    Arrow

On my S4, I use the RCA inputs switched to LINE and THRU modes.

And to have more inputs with level control, I use this small RCA hub :

The same can be used to compensate the S4's lack of booth-out volume control when connected to one of the outputs BTW.

UPDATE : There is definitely need for the DJTT team to to change the template of the forums so that links to single posts don't appear like if the colors where inverted...

    ^^

If you turn off the S4, the Mac will auto-default back to the internal sound card.

    Works seamlessly.
