    Default Shure Needle Question

I've been looking on ebay for new needles. I'm planning on getting whitelabels for club gigs and m44-7's for regular use. I saw that there's another version though, the m44-7-h. Is there any difference between the two m44-7's?

The difference is that the M44-7-Hs come with Technics headshells and the regular ones are by themselves.

Just out of curiosity, why the different carts and needles for playing out vs. playing at home?

I searched a lot of threads on needles and kept seeing that people used whitelabels or ortofons for clubs because they track better supposedly but at the same time they wear out the vinyl quicker. I figured it'd be nice to try out both sets anyways.

There's a front page writeup on this site that does a comparision of aload of needed, Shures and Whitelabels included IIRC.

They actual did 2 write ups comparing needles. Granted both write ups were based around control vinyl use. The white label cart performed poorly for that, and with it's low output voltage, I can't imagine it is a viable club option either.
