Default Technics 1200 MIDI Mod? *VIDEO*

I cam across this video of a Technics 1200 with a Midi controller modded into it. Does anyone have any more detail on this or any idea as to how to do it?

I would love to have control buttons like that built into the wasted space on my Technics.... either built in MIDI or some built in mini FX unit mod.

It says it's a MIDI controller but I would love if there would be a way to do an integrated hardware type mod for more control over FX and maybe samples on the TT itself without relying on a computer. anyway I'm sure MIDI would be easier so I'm trying to think of what controllers could be easily modified or what parts would be needed to put something like this together. Heh imagine a 1200 with arcade button all over it... I would personally go for small buttons with LEDs but it would be funny. It would be pretty class if you could get the 33/45 metal buttons with the LEDs, like 8 of them, and use them each as a MIDI button.

how much room is inside the tech's? I've opened mine a few times and don't see much. Plus you have a big ass magnet spinning the platter. Could that effect anything? That mod would be sooo sweet to use with Serato/Traktor for cue points/samples. I want them for my techs!

also...the video says it was uploaded 1year ago? Could that be?

Vestax has a turntable/controller that looks a lot like this, the Vestax Controller One. Too bad it costs a little fortune the last time I checked...

    Default Midi?

I wonder if MIDI is a misnomer?

I figure it would have been a custom-made PCB that sits between the pitch slider and the motor.

Any momentary input would result in an instantaneous pitch-up or pitch-down.
