Hello, I've had my z2 some 6 months now. Still only touched on the functionality. One idea I had was to assign cue 4 button as a fader button, so pressing it will cut in the music when scratching. Is this possible? Cheers, Andy

Totally possible and quite easy to do as well. Add a "Volume Adjust" command, set the type of controller to "Button" and interaction mode to "Hold", then simply click learn the button you want to map it to.
If you want to override completely the hot cue button click on the "override factory map" checkbox, if you want to keep it then you might have to work with modifiers so that this only happens if you hold the shift key for example.
Volume Adjust button mapping can be set as following:
-direct
-inc
-dec
-reset
Trick is to use direct value of 0 when the button is pressed and then duplicate this command, check "INVERT" and change the value to 1![]()
Thanks both will give it a go. I am a novice so may be back to ask some silly questions!
Attached you fill find a little mapping I made on my Z2. This mapping overrides factory function for left and right cue 4 button. Pressing a button will completely cut the deck volume and letting go of the button will set volume back to full.
The mapping is very basic, just four commands, two for each deck (A and B). Should give you idea of how this mapping technique works so later on you can test different values to come up with more variations of a same button actions.

Stewe this is great. I've only just joined this forum so to spend time on this for me is much appreciated. Can I ask, are you self taught or did you use any specific material for your mapping knowledge?
Niiiiiiice!
To answer your question: Actually, I used to map Traktor for long time before I had an Internet connection, literature on mapping and/or MIDI controllers. For many many years I only used my computer keyboard with a ton of layers mapped inside and since I haven't got any LED feedback on that thing I had to remember what each mode/button was mapped to, but it was a good exercise for my memory. It was an ultimate mapping which combined keyboard modifiers (Shift, Ctrl, Space) and Traktor's modifiers for total control.
I added your mapping Stewe. Works just as described. Not quite what I am looking to achieve though. What I would like to happen is when the crossfader is slid to deck A, I hit the deck B cue point 4 button and it will cut in the music from deck B. Kinda the opposite to what you have done. Will have a play though as I suspect what you have done isn't far off :-)
Thanks again, Andy
Cool getting there now. Few issues with loosing sound as the unpressed button cuts out the music once I use it. So need to add a new button/function for this to reset it. I have some dicers so may try these and add some other cutting in functions like the gater fx etc will let you know how I get on.
