I thought about doing that when I was deciding where to go from a VCI-100, but I went for a Xone 4D instead. I decided that I'd miss having jog wheels for when my grids aren't perfect, and that I have less cabling on my desk (rather than routing an 8 out soundcard with 4 RCA pairs into the Xone 92 plus 2 USB for the Kontrol's and 1 USB/FW for the soundcard
If neither of those points are important to you though you'd have a lovely little setup, plus the 4 band eq (which is the only thing I wish my 4D had!)
Thanx Lantau, actually now I'm starting 2b in the same situation about the vci100. It's a great controller but if I wanna mix with 3 decks start 2b little complicated and with 4...impossible.
Thats why I sold the VCi for an akai apc 40 :DQuote:

Hi there,
I recently sold my 4D to get a 92/APC 40. Pretty happy with the result. The 92 sounds great in an analog way though some of the components don't feel as sturdy as the 4D, i.e. jiggly light pipes and a few pots that wiggle ever so slightly. But I appreciate minor imperfections! The 92 is a keeper and thus i'm not afraid to open it up, make changes...get a new faceplate etc.
I loved the 4D but felt that the more I used it the more constrained things seemed. Too many modifiers and the lack of visual feedback on the state of my mapping finally got too much. Plus no 64-bit driver. I felt the 4D would start to lose its allure and thus its value in the community and decided to sell while it was still marketable. More products seem to hit the market every month and the progressive refinement of each is too inviting for a gear head like myself. In short, I just felt a little too boxed in with the xone's all-in-one design.

Oh yeah, I'm thinking about getting an X1 next month after a few others have tried it.
