press kit advice needed

i live in a small former industrial town and have been spinning for several years playing out for a few of those , mostly bars and partys and have been getting gigs thru word of mouth and some demos however im trying to expand my reach. on this forum i know there are more experienced djs that have some gigs in venues in places other than the home town most places want a following i mean i cant say that x # of people would follow me to the shore for example or even to philly any advice on this would be greatly appreciated, i have read other threads on this and Eans articles but would like to hear from people in my shoes, working... but wanting to expand for some change . how did you break in to other markets? :confused:
