isnt that just pretty much the same thing as genius for itunes. Sometimes if i get stuck when mixing or just being lazy i use genius to find a song. Makes for cool mixes when you are using songs you wouldn't usually mix with. I think it could be good for start out dj's to improve there song selections and broaden there music collection.
I'm still not sure, as i see it the use of this kind of tools might compromise the learning curve of a dj, same as auto sync affecting the basic learning skills of a dj, and by learning i don't mean manual syncing: as a side effect beatmaching has a huge influence in the learning of song structure and eq use.
There's been a lot of discussion on what makes a dj a dj, and i think track selection is one important topic never to miss.
If you need something like this, you in the wrong bidness.
A DJ that can't pick a track is like an artist that can't pick a colour!
awesome, it even finds my own songs lol. :D
I just saw this earlier, and while I may not agree with the complete use of it for picking your next track, it gives you a HUGE advantage over genius in learning new artists that fit a certain sound and finding something new.
edit: like pandora on crack
