The classic 808 BD sounds and feels like like crazy low bass but in fact it's only down to 45Hz with most of the energy centered around 50 - 75Hz. Not as hard to reproduce as you might think, even with moderately cheapo speakers. Which is probably why it's so popular a sound to use and riff from!

Moral: Concentrate your bass energy in the 50Hz-75Hz range and you'll sound golden on most soundsystems.

+1, but I find that more often than not Fatlimey's posts give me a headache. I mean that in the most respectful way possible. :o It's just painfully obvious your smarter than I am, but I can make a mean tamale so I think we're even. :D

Oh yeah, it has to be a short and informative piece. Not some 5 page ramble about hardware programming debugging YAWN...
