Hey everyone, I've got an Akiyama MCX II mixer with a PCB fader.
Problem is, the fader curve is X, and I'm a turntablist.
So I've been thinking about modding the fader to a scratch fader, is this possible? (the fader curve can't be changed on the mixer itself..)

What software you using?
In Traktor you can set the midi setting to velocity and get the cut in to be real snappy with hard taps.
Works with my APC's shitty X fader.

if you have some Digital skills you could use the Fader as "Voltage generator", feed it into a micro-controller, read it, then generate a voltage to another pin who'll drive some VCAs.
In your MCU firmware, you need a look-up table who establish the conditions: fox X voltage IN.. I generate a Y voltage Out.
Easy.. but does it really worth it?!? It's up to you.
just use a non-pcb fader and solder the connections...?
am i missing something here, or does the pcb more than i get from the pictures above (not really much)?
what good scratch non-pcb/pcb-solderable fader can I put inside this mixer? I thought all faders had been made for one specified mixer?Quote:

All a fader is, is a linear potentiometer... I've never been sure how analogue mixers that have curve control manage to do it, multiple tracks on the fader?
But yeah, you won't have a hope of modding an existing fader, the best you can do is to turn it from a linear taper into a logarithmic taper by adding a few resistors, but that is not even close to what you want...
