:)
if you're not in a hurry and have a decent budget, i'm in.
I'm in a hurry and I've got a tiny budget... ah well!
:D Know the feeling, know that answer, no problem buddy. NEXT! ;)
Is there a decent tutorial on how to setup a .NET development environment? I've always had a knack of being able to pickup the basics of most languages fairly easily (aside from Objective-C, cannot wrap my mind around the syntactical differences).
I make absolutely no promises in terms of quality or length of time to finish, but I'd be curious to see if I could hack the existing apps to add the required functionality...
Not sure about tutorials, but there's quite a few C#, C++, VB forum, eBook all 'round the web.
Not so much tutorials on the language, more of how do I setup visual studio properly to compile the app... I've never really dealt with desktop programming, only web and microcontrollers, so making an executable is new to me :) My workplace has an Microsoft action pack subscription, so I think I'll just install studio '05 and just get my feet wet.
I've seen some of the code and it seems fairly straight forward. I'll have to brush up on my gui stuff (haven't touched it in over a decade, since one of the first visual basics came out), and research thread based code, but for the changes required to MFDExporter, it should be fairly simple...
However, MiL0... could you PM me your skype or msn? I'll likely have lots of questions :)
I'll sugrgest to download Visual Studio Express...it's free ,,,, not totally complete but quite capable
Done and done! Already have it compiling and I've been busy testing and stepping through the code to see where the changes need to be made... Hopefully I can get something to test by the end of the weekend... Are you interested in helping beta test?
Could be fun.
