Second Time Around
So after doing my first gig which I really enjoyed doing, I was invited back to the same bar for a second gig in a few weeks. Just wondering how many songs should I "recycle"? Would it be better to play as many new songs as possible? Any opinions appreciated.

Play some of the hits or songs you really like again.

Try and remember what worked the room well and play it again. Normal people don't get as bored as we do, rock em out and make some fans.

play what you feel... most people forget what you play from gig to gig.

Yeah. Even if you spun every day, you'd recycle songs. I guess the rules of thumb are don't repeat songs in a night and take note when the crowd gets bored of a song. This doesn't mean to retire it, just put it off to the side for a night or two.

I'd say you can use the ones that worked really well like everyone said, just don't use the same mix (i.e into/out of the same song you did the first time around). People are unlikely to pick out individual tracks, and they wont care if it's a popular one because everyone's playing it every set anyway, but it can look bad if you're using the same mix every time.
also, remember to jam out with your clam out.
