You're able to record with the pro version. You'll need to record externally some how.
if you can figure out a way to trick the audio routing to go through something like Audacity then you could record.

plug it into your line out/mic in on the computer and run an internal soundcard... or run a RCA->Stereo (Y CABLE) from your outputs on the sound card to the mic in on the laptop
