pionner release TSI for CDJ850

so pioneer have released the tsi file for traktor pro/pro 2 im looking at getting 2 850s in the next few days but dont know whether to use it as a controller through midi or dvs, can someone advise as to how well it works, or does it all just function better as a dvs?

I assume it uses HID? in which case they're probably pretty good as controllers, makes it less hassle setting up.
