good starter for traktor is the mixtrack pro, vci-100, and of course the s4 (depending on budget)

search for midi controllers as well...
but like they mentioned above read some threads and utilize the search button
lurk the forum, don't be afraid to ask questions, use the search function. a lot of people more than willing to help you out buddy ;)
My advice to you would be to start smoking heavily.
And, checking this forum/website and your favorite stores like Beatport, Traxsource, Stompy and Juno to find what's "hot" right now, and what's in line with your style and taste.

Tell us what music you will be playing?
Have you any DJ experience? Can you work a computer?
Do you want to scratch....or use vinyls or the like?
