Commercial Music
Hey guy, really quick question.
I have a fairly outdated music collection, last years charts mostly. I want to get into DJing the current commercial music - a clubby kind of remix. Things like Good Feeling by Flo Rida and Avicii. Where do you get your music from?
I've been looking around at websites like Beatport and Clubdanceremixes but I'm not sure if they're the best locations to get my music from.
What do you suggest?
Thanks so much.

I got that response on my last threat as well. I'm not exactly sure what it means, but I genuinely do need help.

Sorry dude, but 'commercial music' is a pretty secretive scene, hardly anybody's heard it, nobody speaks of it. Some people claim it doesn't even exist. You've got to pay your dues by playing underground music in basement crack dens for years before somebody hooks you up with that sort of shit.
-
Really? Maybe Commercial isn't the right word then. I mean songs from the top 40 and so on. Is that not commercial?
-
Shhhh! Don't tell everybody where to find it!
Before you know it, there'll be DJ's playing 'commercial' everywhere... Keep it secret, keep it safe

Check billboard.com and itunes charts. Its really easy.
You could just type into google 'top 40' and you will get literally millions of pages giving lists of top 40 songs.
-
I have done that but where do I get the remixes for them? Some of the songs just don't have that club feel to them.
-
search youtube for: "name of song" remix

My 2nd bit of advice to you is 2 forget this thread and head back to beatport or itunes or anywhere you get music from. Type in the name of the song you are after and there is literally many remixes listed. Then its the music collector part. LISTEN to them all and decide which one(s) you like.
Edit: Soundcloud is a great place to look.
