I need some help with rotary midi control for Traktor Scratch Pro & BCR 2000

I have just agreed to buy Traktor Scratch Pro with an Audio 8, I plan to use this with a my 2 Technics 1200's and my 2 CD decks... I have a standard 3 channel mixer that doesn't have midi control so I started thinking that I might as well get a midi controller that will control the effects inside Traktor, the question is how to go about it???

I have to do this on a budget as the Mrs is already going mad about how much I've spent so I thought the BCR 2000 would be good for the job. I've looked about on the web & watched videos on Youtube but it seems that all those who have one use the BCR on it's own to control Traktor and nothing else.

Before I buy one, I just want to make sure that there will be no issues with using timecode vinyl and CD's whilst simultaneously using a Behringer BCR 2000 to control the effects, also is the mapping process simple enough???

I'm just moving into this kind of DJ'ing after doing it the normal way for nearly 20 years, so it's pretty daunting and I need to make sure I get the right gear that I'm going to be happy with.

Nah, no issues doing that. I use a BCF 2000, which has a line of the same rotary encoders the BCR has, and they're great for controlling effects, as they push in so you can turn on the effect and control parameters with the same encoder.

Mapping is fairly simple, as you just use the MIDI learn command in Traktor's mapping editor. If you get stuck there are loads of videos out there that make it very clear how to do it.

You shouldn't have any major complications. MIDI and timecode don't interfere with themselves.
