Yes. They have start stop buttons and a pitch slider.
That covers the basics.
I owned CDJ400's for around 2 years and loved the little things! Didn't cost much and had everything including USB!
I love them. I'd take them over 800's and 1000's... seriously I loved them.
very functional players, i own 2, and as soon as you know your way around them, you can do anything people do on 2000's, except the hot cues. Browsing through a USB drive is a pain in the ass tho.
You'd be better off with a pair of RMP-2.5s, unless you get a REALLY good deal on the 400s.
The 400s are still far too small for my liking though.
Only thing I can suggest is that you try them for yourself :) I would never recommend buying something without actually seeing it first, but they're stocked in a fair few places in the UK and Europe so it's not too difficult to have a ganders at them in real life before you buy :)
