How can I get DJ sets at college parties and house parties?

Bit of a stupid question, I know, but I need some serious advice. Don't bite my head off!!! :D


How can I get DJ sets at college parties and house parties?

Why don't you put on your own parties/house party? Ask around in small bars/pubs/halls in your area, maybe even do a Wednesday/Thursday night (or a night that a owner will try out without the risk), get on Facebook & Twitter etc and promote promote promote. Also if you have friends that DJ get them involved.

I don't know anyone around my age who DJ's, I have Facebook and Twitter... There was a bar that I could of played at but I got barred (that's my own fault) and I don't know anyone that puts on regular house parties. In the past 5 years I've maybe gone to around 8 house parties... which in all fairness isn't a lot. I will definitely ask around though and now I have produced some mix CD's. As for my own parties... No way, I've asked before and it's a definite no. I live in a guest house in Brighton so some times there are parties in the bar... But next time I am definitely DJing.

Yep which is now why I'm asking about house parties etc.

Don't worry I am considering it.

Give away Cds. Hell, kids called me a DJ before I even started spinnin lol. Just network yourself, nobody is going to sit online and scout for DJs by their talent level or the songs in their mixes.
