I'm using Abelton on a Mac and I'd like to map the MF3D buttons to pitches that are not the default chromatic. Some of the patterns are a little odd and in some cases I want more than one button mapped to the same note. Is there software for this?
I've tried Bome's Midi Translator and I can't find the classic version that everyone recommends. The only installation tutorials are for a PC or not in English and I can't figure out how to operate it on my own. Is there anything else to use?
I don't have Midi Fighter. But you can use a drum rack to do kind of the same thing with any midi controller that sends 'note on' messages. (i.e. midi keyboard)
Just click show/hide chain list, and I-0 icon from there you can define input and output pitch. For chords you can use 'Chord' midi effect.
The downside of this is that you need to copy whatever you want to trigger for each pad/pitch.
Alternative is to use a Midi Effect rack with multiple chains of Midi/Chord effect and defined Keyzone. (for each button on your MF3D)
It's a bit of work, but you wouldn't have to worry about routing midi translator.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to have an instrument in each cell too?
