Turntables or modular

Hello guys, back again to ask you another question that I hope you all can relate too. I posted a thread asking about going modular or getting a s8 a few weeks ago. Eventually decided that going modular was perfect. But that led me to more thinking. Thinking about true remixablilty. I've been watching videos of dj shiftee and all of the contestants for the threestyle competiton and ive been noticing that they typically rock a mixer, mashcine mk2 and a set of technics. And they absolutely blow the sets out of the water with creativity and style. From scratching to using remix decks on the fly. Now I know these guys are professionals but to me it seems like a very well though of set up. So im thinking of getting a set up just like it. The reason why is that it would allow me to basically mix any genre under the sun. I would be able to cut hip hop, mix edm flawlessly and just cover all the bases of remixing any genre out there. Now I dj every genre out there from hip hop to country to edm. I like making sure that no matter what party im at I can mix the genre I want. But with a modular set up like a d2. I won't be able to scratch, cut or back spin at all. So I think a set up like this would work perfectly for a dj that needs to hit every genre out there. Also I was taught on technics so im a little nostalgic.

So my question for you guys is do you think with my situation that I described. Would it be good to go and get a z2, mk2, and some turntables? Would it fit the style of what i'm seeking?

well obvioulsly not for country. For the club managers if there are any on here or just everyone in general. For a town that uses basically only cdj's and serato controllers. Is it a good stand out point if im up there scratching up songs and running vinyl? Im asking dumb questions but just want help.

No need for trolling. Im asking if any modular guys have done the change to turntablist and enjoyed it more.

He's not trolling mate, he's just pointing out that you are already 90% certain of your answer. Just chucking my opinion your way, have you thought about the Denon 3900's as opposed to vinyl turntables? Thing is they have all the scratchy goodness without the tonearm/needle issue, plus they got buttons for doing stuff on Traktor with and provide their own timecode signal.

Turntables or slit your wrists. Whichever seems less painful. lol

Ok i understand your point. My biggest issue is it worth the extra weight. portability wise and everything. And I'm a traktor guys but if i do plan on going vinyl should i just go to serato? would i still be able to map a mk2 with cues and what ever serato calls remix decks.
