New Xone 43! On it's way back to the shop unless someone can enlighten me...

After a month of deliberation I finally chose the Xone 43 to replace my S4 after deciding that the Xone 92 was overkill. Following 3 days of ownership I'm not so sure...

My main gripe...send and return does not work how I want/expected.

Granted I have only tried this with Traktor's send effects, as I have put off buying an EFX1000 until I'm sure about it's compatibility with the xone. I know that to use the sr effects on the 43 i need to set the knob to full wet to avoid phasing. However, doing so completely ruins the audio quality and reduces the volume. Would this be the same with a pioneer effects unit? Currently running the send return loop through an Audio 10 soundcard.

The fader curve is also very annoying but something I could probably get used to.

As far as sound and build quality goes, I am very happy with this mixer, but send and return effects were my main reason for upgrading from the S4, so if this doesn't work I'm afraid it's back to the shop.

Can anyone offer any advice or is this simply how it works?

If you renning ableton, you cabn use it to play sounds and also use it as an external effect unit. (Send from mixer aux send to soundcard IN,into ableton, and return to mixer from ableton via soundcard.) Then you can set up the channel effect delay inside ableton to avoid phasing or/and delay due to latency. and you win some money on the fact you don't need to buy pioneer effect.
