Ether2DMX8 Questions

I am going to purchase an Ether2DMX8 to expand M-PC. Here are a few questions that I have.

1 - Do I need to purchase a license with it or is it built into the hardware (i.e. will I have 8 universes available when I get it set up?)

2 - What does the set up look like? is it as simple as taking cat 5 out of the computer and sending it to the Ether2DMX8?

3 - If i need to also use the ethernet port on the computer for network as well can I take the network and the Ether2DMX8 into a switch and then to the computer to allow both to work at the same time?
