K2 mapping chain selector in Ableton Live 10

I know you can map a chain selector in Ableton Live using consecutive notes on a controller.

I'm looking at mapping vertically on a k2 the bottom 4 switches of the matrix for each column to their own chain selector.

As the the note numbers go consecutive from left to right
you cannot just map the range vertically
I've found a work around that is a Max For Live device
but there is some limitation:
when you select another switch the previous switch stays lit instead of turning off the led and sending note off
press the one you have selected to turn the led off and send the note off
Press the one you want to select

My thinking for what I want:
I'm mapping the pair of K2 for use in live sets for drum racks.
The bottom matrix selects the sample for each column
the 3 pots at the top, send 1, send 2, and pitch for the samples
I have push 2 for the sequencing etc
Midi Fighter Twister for the fx settings on all sends in the live set/project
