So my vmc002xlu being a cheap mixer has a garbage crossfader, want to upgrade to cf-pcv, does anyone here use the same fader. What are some other good crossfaders that will work with the vmc?

i got the vmc002xl with a cf-pcv. its quite a difference to the build in crossfader. Crabs and real fast flares or the like are no problem. I only have problems with my upfaders since i changed the cf, they kinda go up and down harder than before.
I think the innofader works on the vmc002xl/u too.
did ur factory crossfader suck horribly too? because mine is brand new but the fader like WONT cut in even on sharp curve, it feels as if its still on smooth curve. and if the fader is still all the way to one channel i can like hear the other channel at very very low volume.
that sounds like a torn up cf. like its been used a while. mine acted like yours after a while. where´s your cut in point? mine was like 5-6mm. with the cf-pcv now i have about 1.8 mm. super sharp.
yeah the xfader has obvious issue my cut in is around the same as yours was. the innofader may or may not work in the VMC but the cf-pcv looks good. i actually just ordered one. really the only good the fader thatll work in the VMC. never installed a crossfader looks damn simple. just remove faceplate, remove screws for crossfader, unplug it, then reverse process right?
You got it. its pretty easy. You only have to be aware to change a switch inside the vcm for the cf-pcv. You find that switch on the plug inside the vcm when you take out the old fader.
Be carefull with your pressure when you unscrew it. The rack-ears are mounted seperately, you have to take them of first. I f+++ed mine rack-ear-screws up by to much pressure. And after i did put everything back together my upfaders are really hard to move. I mean reaaaaally hard. I never found out why and just got used to it.
@greatmesk, you mind if PM you when doing the install if anything seems like an issue?
of course you can, thats not a problem mate :)
cool man thanks a lot. my order got rescheduled, have a large gig on new years and wont be able to scratch now :(.
