i agree re: the key detection but that was coded by a student as part of the "google summer of code" where students had to propose features they could add. plus it may help to arouse interest in mixxx from people that actually care about stuff like key detection (which isn't me btw)Quote:

re: cpu usage... that one does seem to be true. it certainly uses more cpu than traktor - and that's without the new multi coloured waveforms that will be in the final 1.11. performance may well need some work...
This isn't really a dig on anyone here because you know (or should know lol) that i respect you all. But hearing all the chirps regarding software locked to hardware in a forum dominated by "Mac is the only way to go...it just works" is...ironic?
I don't particularly like the direction NI is going because, well I have no clue what the end state is. It's confusing and concerns me that ultimately innovation in the controller market will get stifled. But from a business perspective, it's a really good call.

That may very well happen but the :P indicates you are well aware how that would turn out. With all the banter in here about club standards don't think NI would not like to be just that. Hardware, not software drives the club standard and there is a lot of pushing and shoving going on at the moment from all the big companies--in a very hot and rapidly developing market as well. NI has the attention of a bevy of young and eager talent. Pioneer has it to some degree but mostly in legacy. The vast majority of up and comers likely started on a software suite...who do you think has momentum at the moment?
