S4 - Traktor Pro 2 - Scamo's Effect Jogs Extreme [Version 5.0 Beta]- The Next Level

Hey Scamo,

Been a long time follower and fan of your mappings. This is the first time I've ever run into a problem It's two days before a big show, and I decided to upgrade to 5.0 from 4.4 even though you warned against using it live. I figured I could just revert if I didn't like it. Upon loading the new mapping everything is great except the sensitivity of my jog wheels when scratching (not in Fx mode) has been greatly increased. I need to have my old sensitivity back for scratch parts during my set. I've looked through all the settings in TP2 as well as your modifications in your mapping with no avail. I even reverted back to the 4.4 mapping and the jog wheel sensitivity is still much higher than before. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious, but your mapping has irreversibly changed something in Traktor Pro 2 for me. Please help me out.

edit- I have messed with the tempo bend sensitivity and it seems to have no effect. All other forum posts say there is a 'scratch' sensitivity edit in the mapping somewhere but I can't find it in either of your mappings (4.4 or 5.0). Just to be clear I had everything set-up and working with 4.4 and Traktor 2.5. Something changed and even restoring back to my saved preferences with 4.4 won't fix anything.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to help, as my mapping should have absolutely no effect on the way the jogs scratch. I'd try turning Traktor off, disconnect the S4 from USB and turn the power off, reconnect and turn power on and then start Traktor again.

Other than that, I have no ideas. Sorry mate.

Scamo are you finding you have to touch the jog wheel a second time for the effects to work? It's not a massive big deal just a little gripe.

I have a Mac, and this is what I did. First, I backed up my track collection just in case (right click on "track collection" in the browser and select export. Uncheck "copy tracks to destination". Then, I downloaded the Uninstall Utility from the Native Instruments web site. After I ran that (selecting to uninstall Traktor 2), I re-downloaded Traktor (newest version, obviously) and installed. I didn't lose any cue points or anything from my track collection, so I didn't end up needing the backup (good to do anyway). Everything seems to be working now!

Hey everyone. Another update.

I'm sorry to say, 2.5 has actually set me back a notch, but it is sort of my fault too. I was probably trying too much and 2.5 crashed and I lost all my changes. I was trying to finalize the Builder mapping with a new incremental effect mode 1. Also 2.5 has new mapping names and I had to "get used to them" too. The effect commands are totally different as their are no more single or group modes to select from. Instead, the effect commands are all put together in one selection.

So, I guess it was one step back to get possibly two steps forward.:) This coming weekend I have a 4 day weekend and hopefully won't have too much other work to do, so I can concentrate on the mappings some more. Sorry guys and gals that I am not faster with all this. I really wish I could be and thank you all for your patience and support.:)

Edit-/ Oh, I was also trying out how to make a video and I now have a video software and I found out my iPhone 4 is actually quite good at taking videos. I am afraid though, my computer is a bit too weak to play Traktor and run the screen capture too. I'm going to have to play with that some more. I also have to learn the video software. But for sure, we are getting there.:)

Yeah, I hate to bother the guy, but I'm excited for the final release! Hope all is going well.

It isn't. :( I ended up working (to make money) this weekend and got two projects finished. However, I was burned out on Sunday and just basically didn't want to touch a computer. Sorry.

And don't worry about bothering me. I feel bad enough as it is already. You guys saying you want the mapping and kicking me in the ass will help me find the time and energy to continue.;):)

I just ask you continue to be patient with me... a little more.
