Yeah its prob not even worth worrying about firmware this is a hardware issue
firmware update went through with a new flash drive, problem still persists so looks like it is going back
There seems to be a big problem with some of the db4 units,
What's happening A&H... Come on!
I was going to buy one but I'm gonna hold off for a while now,
I'll stick with my Xone 92 for the time being.
And I hope there is not going to be a problem with the k2 and db2 when they are released, if that happens it could seriously damaged their rep.
Hey there,
How do you connect the mixers to your system?
and what system are you using?
(brand? Active speakers? amplifier + passive speakers? what cables?).
I'm sort of new to the market and ofcourse i've heard of the "way supreme" soundquality of xone mixers. This is a important factor for me.. I do have a quite exclusive hi-fi system and care alot of the soundquality. Right now im using a 800 mixer. It's ok but with my D/A converter from Cambridge audio (name, dacmagic) for like 300 euro I get way better quality of sound on my system. (might be cuz im using better audiocable from my converter than on my mixer).
OK so it's here. And it works. I've been playing with it for a few hours now, all vinyl; haven't even plugged in the computer yet. The effects are mad. The BPM detector is spot on. And the looper is really nice. Gonna have to see how much I miss TSP certification. Otherwise this mixer is absolutely sick. Loving it!
If I keep it though I'm definitely going to want to swap the crossfader for an innofader. The fader is actually not terrible for scratching but it's not as nice as what I'm used to. Is there a guide anywhere to taking this thing apart? It's not obvious like the four screws on the denon mixer fader plate. There are screws on the top and sides of the mixer in a few different places. I think A+H said replacing the fader with an innofader was a pretty straightforward mod but I'd be far more comfortable knowing someone else has done it before successfully.
One minor niggle; the silver foil over the effects buttons comes off after a few presses. Not all over, but the points on the Ms and stuff are gone. Really minor cosmetic thing but for the price of these you'd think they'd get something like that right.
the best way to get to the xfader is through the back. loosen the screws which hold the fader on top first, then flip the mixer over and remove the 8 screws on the back panel. you can reach in a take it out from there.
starting tomorrow andy rigby jones and i will be touring asia; we have workshops planed in singapore and tokyo with the DB2, DB4, and K2's; as well as club gigs in seoul, beijing, and singapore. if anyone is in the region and want to attend, just get in touch via email.
congrats man. all I know is I hope changing the fader is less involved than the 4D. I almost had a hemorrhage trying to FIND one to replace it with, let alone disassemble the entire thing. I couldn’t just purchase one from xone, which I’m still confused about. I had to be a distributor, and when I found a distributor they wouldn’t make orders under 100$.
long story short after a few months of emails they sent me one for free.
