I touch the keyboard to set my beat grids, search for tracks and drop my cue points in offline mode on serato. I'm just a new kid on the block when it comes to djing.

I put the sample decks C&D in essential mode so they take up less space, got rid of the crossfader and track info bar (total waste of space imo) and hid the mixer. Everything fits fine now on my 13". even if I show the mixer it's ok but since it's just telling me what I can already see on the VCI I don't see the need for it.
Dude, TPS4 was basically a pre-release version of TP2 because it either wasn't ready or needed more beta testing, I don't think it's fair to complain about there not being a huge difference between the 2. The difference between everything has been discussed ad nauseum in this thread and others but for 69€, I'm happy and I think most people are.
What's wrong with using the keyboard, it's not gna bite...
and ean recommended a foot pedal in the original S4 review article, i think it was a boss or something.
maybe you just need to change the file name suffix to .wav rather than .mp3
I agree w you, and I'm certainly not complaining. I actually said maybe my view point could be just jaded cause tpro2 is not much different than the s4pro software that I was last using. Even with that being said, I also said that I still feel it is worth paying for the upgrade if I was still using Tpro. What I didnt say, but was kinda getting at is that I knew going in that tpro2 wasnt much different from what I was using and yet I still got somehwat caught up in the hype and as probably others did, and I think a lot of people might feel the same way and I can certainly relate to the original poster.
Most of the gigs that I do are mostly for the typical top40 hip hop crowd, I've personally never used the loop recorder in a live set. Im sure in time I will think of different ways to work it in and with time it has the possibility to be a very creative tool, but I think many people are probably finding what I said to hold true and that being that the loop recorder is not as usefull as they may have thought beforehand. Different genres of music will be easier to integrate into sets than others of course. People were already doing one shot samples without a sample deck and the sample loops don't have key lock control as of yet which really takes away from the sample decks versatility. I like those features and Im glad Native put them into s4 and TP2, but they are not as usefull as I first thought and its going to more time before I find a lot of use for them, I'm sure people will agree.
Again I'm not knocking it or even complaining (if I was I would start my own thread), but Im saying I understand where the original poster is coming from. The biggest thing I was looking forward to was some of the bugs found in s4 and tpro to be fixed, which some of them where and some of them have not yet.
Colored wavforms don't hide your shit mixing. Just saying.
@ Manchild: I understand what you're saying, but then in your case why even buy an S4? I mean the S4 is the S4 because it incorporates all those functions such as loop recorder and sample decks into the MIDI controller. If you just wanted to stick with Traktor Pro regular version you could have just upgraded to maybe a VCI-100 arcade or something. The S4 would not have been the best choice of controller for your position.
As for the upgrade we are getting it for free simply because it is already what we got with our S4 just slightly modified. If it was a huge upgrade in anyway, shape or form I would bet my bottom dollar that NI would have made us pay for it. Like they did for time code. Time code is a huge upgrade for us, and guess what? We have to pay for it.
My whole argument over here is that people should not go out buying equipment and what not if they just want it cause of it's name and how popular it seems. It's simply a waste of your money. If you're buying something make sure you're going to utilize it to its full potential.
i prefer substance over style myself bruv ;)
