So... anything new from the Western Front yet :D?
Do we have a better estimation of an arrival date in the US? February is the last I heard. I have one retailer looking into it. And what of the estimated cost (USD)? I have heard a wide range of prices...
I appreciate everyone's input on this thread, it has been tremendously helpful - all the Xone threads truthfully. Thank you! (special shout out to Mix Architekt)
I am desperate to reconfigure my setup (loooonnnngggg overdue!). The DB2 seems like a perfect center piece. Any other advice, I am ALL ears!
Cheers.
seriously thinking of ditching the s4 and getting a Db2 and a k2 hope these are released soon. Does anyone know who stocks Allen & heath in Scotland.
Well, if you can live without 'jogwheels' (and almost everybody who spins digitally, is capable of doing that - in my opinion) then you should definitely do that! Allen & Heath is win over the S4. Only the triple modus EQ is a win alone, sound quality too!
i'm not scheduled to be back in the uk for a while (asia/oz is my xone), but greg is the new product specialist at xone hq in cornwall, and is traveling around europe doing some clinics - paris was the most recent one. i'll be at namm with greg, then i'm off to new zealand and australia for workshops and gigs at the end of february, then jakarta in early march. DB2 is already for sale and available in singapore...
here are some screen shots of the new beta firmware i'm running on the DB4. lots of surprises and even more to come...

are the channel faders and knobs on the db2 the same as on the db4?
i am consider getting one of these babies cause i really like the haptics of the db4. i don't care for all the digital gimmicks (the db2/4 are mixing digitally, after all, so all they do can also be done in software running on my laptop) but i love the feel of the channel faders, the smooth dry/wet knobs, etc. on the db4 so i think about getting a db2 for that reason.
the knobs and faders are the same for both mixers, minus the eq backlight on the db2.
db4/db2 have dedicated dsp cores running fixed point processing which is a world away from floating point dsp on a laptop being bogged down by clock cycles for background operations, etc. it's quite different than mixing internally with traktor.
thanks!
i certainly didn't intend to start a debate on principles in a thread that's supposed to the db2. so thanks again for your help. i rather not reply to this. only reason i brought it up was to suggest that i don't need the other extra features the db4 has compared to the db2. i guess the other question on my mind is whether i should drop 1500 just for the great ergonomics of the db2.Quote:

I notice one retailer has it for sale at $2K+. UK had it listed at $1670 which seem more realistic.
This seems perhaps excessive no? What is the going price in Singapore?
