Fucking hell how did you get 40 friends? I still think you're doing better than the statistical average though :P
Wait, I actually only have 38 friends, the other 2 are invites. I am beating the statistical average, which is 88% men, 10% women, and 2% undecided (whatever the fuck that means!). :p
Censored.
I didn't bother to add random adds to my circles.
Me neither, all my friends on it are just the tech savy nerds who wanted to have a quick look at all the hype. I can see it being cool when there's loads of people on it and your stream is continuously updating. I haven't posted a tune on it yet, I feel like you've to make a good first impression with our google overlords. :p
the difference is facebook wasn't just another myspace clone with a different name and a couple extra bells & whistles, it was a unique service.
myspace's userbase was much smaller by comparison as it really only appealed to teenagers and people in the arts&entertainment industry for it's promotion tools.
google+ isn't bringing enough innovation to the table to be the next facebook phenomenon, it's not going to happen.
Not enough innovation?
It's a combonation of facebook and twitter which is intergrated into ALL of googles online products, vastly improved privacy settings and a plethora of privacy features, allows post editing, has the "hangout" video chat rooms which allow you to surf or whatever as a group and is less buggy than facebook even while in beta testing. It is also going to feature apps for all mobile operating systems and some seriously awesome browser plugins and extensions.
Oh- and you can actually delete your data. And they're not selling your data. No joke.
I would say it still needs to integrate into google calendar more so you can share events through it rather than go over to the calendar site. That and some sort of public groups people can join. I'm sure that'll get done at some point, seems pretty obvious.
Fixed for you. I was surprised to see that I couldn't post a picture straight from Picasa last night. Right now the only way to get a pic off my phone onto + is to email it to myself and download it onto my hard drive. And I just checked and didn't see an easy way to get google reader stuff in to my feed.
