Cool, sorry man you said no additional hardware, not software, I read it wrong. Ok, so all I need to sort out now is making sure I can get this all to work on my mac with traktor. I don't want to use a standard midi port as that requires power and I dont want to start having to carry around addition power supplies and requiring more plug sockets. USB is definitely the way to go. If you do know of a way to make it work with a mac running traktor let me know, in the mean time I'll do a bit of homework and try find out myself.

Afraid i have very little mac experiance, though ill have a look. Just incase you do wind up using the 5 pin din midi method remember you can still power it from a usb cable so you would only need the two cables, which may not be ideal but is better than needing a whole aditional power socket.
... thinking about it I recon you could probably hijack power from the lauchpad if you were clever using something like this ...
