Preferences -> Output Routing -> Top of the screen click 'external'
If there is no such option: you're not using traktor.
If somehow the text 'external' is unclickable:
Maybe try Preferences -> Audio setup and select the right 'Audio Device' from the drop-down menu..

cheers for all the advice. Ended up deleting traktor altogether there now before looking at this thread :( i ended up getting traktor 1.1 of my old laptop and it worked alrite though all my midi configerattions were wiped :( going to try and get something sorted this weekend but thanks once again for all the help
