if mixmeister or ableton works for you and you think you can make some quality mixes go for it.
imo i would never depend on software like this because like mentioned above i would always want to recreate my sets live aaaaannndddd

Lol... You miss the point mate.
Making a mix for promotion or of music you love is a totally different thing to making a mix for some club to put or for filling the warm up set when people are coming into the club.
If I'm making a mix of top 40 crap I'll do it in mixmiester cus I probably hate the music but I do it cus I'me asked to do it. It's part of my job, it's not a labour of love and I want it done very quickly.
Its not one thing or another. No-ones said that they don't do live mixes for the love of it.
It's about doing it the way that suits the particular mix or job.
in relation to the shiftee comment thats where i got the idea from he re-records a blend several times in traktor till he gets it perfect then just joins all his songs together which is what I kind of plan on doing in a way.. ill play my set live but if im recording an hour long mix im listening over average speakers and my headphones the odd time if I have bass to high in a song it may sound grand for the surroundings even through my speakers and the monitor levels arents peaking but i dont hear this usually till i load it and play it in the car wereas with mix meister its still the same mix id do in traktor which im very capable of doing because things get adjusted as they are needed but when looking for a job in a club in a country like Ireland which is were I live where theres a recession and everyone is looking for a way of making money, isnt it better to sell yourself as good as possible instead of redoing a mix in traktor loading it in the car finding out the bass is too low, too high, treble is way too high and having to restart all over or just go back to mix meister and lower it for that song??, I know in a way its cheating but isnt software made to aid us in stuff?? Ive heard of many people doing there mix cd's in ableton then using the likes of serato or traktor to actually play out
and just to add to that I know its all about the having fun like I wouldnt attempt to use mix meister live because who wants to see someone sitting behind a screen clicking a mouse its just basically, using an enhancement to almost make my "cv" stand out from the crowd ie "a flawless mix" of music selected out of my collection
If you are worried about your sound you can just use Audacity afterwords to get the peaks sorted out, the club owner isn't going to play your tape in the sense you think he will, That would make it a full time job for him, it IS to ME all about what tunes you pick at a mix tape. AND if you get the gig that's where you will have to show your skills, not in the mixtape. If he or her likes your tunes you'll probably get the gig, and if you don't end up playing them well live you'll probably not get another one, THAT's why I say work one live tapes instead since you don't have all the time in the world to get good and use the time you have wisely, not in just putting cubes together in mixmeister.
Don't get me wrong this is just only my opinion, but when you go into recess and all that and about being a local DJ in ireland, shit man THAT's when you really need skills to get gigs, not good mixtapes to show off at soundcloud if you know what I mean, If you get to be the best one in Dublin you'll get the most gigs and nobody will ever care about how you make the mixtapes, I focus ALL my time on research and thinking about how to spice up the tunes in ways the crowd havent heard before. So put more time and effort inte sampling and maybe getting a "midi trigger" for em'.
But then again these are just my opinions, and if mixmeister is what makes you happy, just keep doing that. But I do wish you and Ireland the best of luck!

haha so many reply's it was more about "is anyone else doing this or what ways do you??" :P I hear where everyone is coming from and I do work on traktor about 4/5 hours a day with my own 2 controller mapping pretty much made a "pioneer" effects unit out of an old controller that seems to add spice to the mixes maybe I should of phrased the question a bit better as id never use mixmeister live, Ive had it as long as ive had traktor and my omni control and thought it was a load of shit then realised the other night that it might be ok for that kind of stuff or even blending 2/3 songs so if that curry kicks in you have a long song to mix into your set so you can go and do your buisiness that kind of stuff?? opening cd's??
Im not trying to say I want to use it to replace traktor because I love the live element of traktor because I feel in controll a lot more but as a DAW/REMIX/RE-EDIT program it seems to be ok.
there were 2 songs that I wanted to make a single song out of for ages and I could do this live when playing it but for recording purposes it lacks that crystal quality so I tried it in mix meister and it seemed to work really well, I had been trying the same song in fl9 and samplitude for a long time and couldnt get it right at all
I have been using only MM for 5-6yrs and I have done countless mixes for clubs, bars, radiostations and friends. I have not used other software besides MM and I find it extremely simple to learn and flexible and I've been told over and over that my mixes are flawless and flows like a musical journey:cool: I don't and have never ever use the SYNC function. In fact I don't use any of the functions available except for an occasional loop... All my mixes are via listening to the songs and editing each track individually , and I like MM because of the ability to drag, stretch, edit and few other uses which i find not available on other software, and I manually edit all the tracks or the entire set directly via the graph table boxes.
I think it's more important to know your music and where to blend which tune to achieve a flawless mix that sets the mood for each particular set than to be a genius at the technical aspect of the hardware or software! Any 12year old can string a bunch of songs together into a playlist/mixset in 5 minutes but only those who know their music can create a mixset that flows flawlessly as if on a musical journey (and this quality is exactly what is missing in most 'DJs' today! :p
