well it's done using teensyduino scripting, rather than Traktor mapping.
not that it makes any less work, but at least you don't have to use the Traktor mapping editor!

What if it repeats while the button is held down, and once released it finishes the eight note loop?
For example, if set to 1/1 and you hold it down for 20 beats, then it would complete 3 loops (24 beats).
Or, alternatively, what about this: have a "stop" note (maybe note 8?) that turns everything back to how it should be when a loop is not playing, then when the button is released, it sends a single "stop" note? That is, if you hold it for 20 beats, it would play the loop 2 and a half time followed by a "stop" note. So, 21 notes sent in total. (EDIT: Do'h, just realized this is what sidetrakd said!)
Looks really cool. The down side is that I can't see that particular effect doing anything except breaking the flow of the dancefloor vibe.
I think it's an interesting concept. In certain situations, it could be pretty fancy. But I think on the whole, it's something that is neat but not super effective in the long run. It's a reason why people don't have turbo-buttons on instruments in general. Sometimes just playing it is half the enjoyment, half the skill, and all the fun.
this is so sick dude!
Game Genie turbo buttons haha.
This looks awesome.
Be cool if you could get a single button dropping the line for 2 decks. Hit one up. It last for like 32 bars and you can eq it.
Props, This is some good stuff.
^^This! The mappings that could be done are endless! As with any mapping its always going to be to the users taste or ability!I havent had a chance to work out anything crazy as I've only been testing various things like timing, snap and quantise.
I get what you mean, for me the idea was really to be able to map advance effects and "stutter edit" style glitches right in traktor!
Its still a work in progress. Its nearly finished, just needs a little testing to see what works and what doesn't.
It's a nice idea, just worried it's another thing that would lead to over use of effects...
