VNC might be the answer. Lets you control one computer form the other via network and will let you view the other computers screen.

Thanks for trying to help, but I'm not picking up a monitor, even if it's super cheap. I'm trying to figure this out with two laptops.
I see no problem with using Maxivista. Why wouldn't it work?
I'll lay it out like this for you: Most computers don't have much of an option for video input, so running your display into another computer would be hard to do to start. If you did accomplish it (you would probably have to hook up another display, though you _might_ be able to do it with significant latency if you set up remote desktop and an ad-hoc network) you would put more load on your DJing computer with whatever software you're running to route it. Finally, I can't imagine most laptops would deal well with using their display for something else - after all, how do you control the laptop if you can't see what you're doing?
Quite simply, I doubt it's possible and even if it is, you're probably better off using a monitor instead. I don't mean to rain on your parade but that's my take on it.
