Numark Mixtrack Pro is a decent starter kit.

lets start this right... ok your budget is aprox $250 - $300,
what else do you have ?
your asking advice on what mixer to get but your (or we at least)
not sure if a mixer is what or all you need,
do you have CD decks or turn tables ?
do you have headphones ?
if so then you need a mixer,
if you dont have those basic things then you need to get them also and if you dont have the budget to get them
you maybe better off getting a midi controller... if that is the case,
do you have a laptop ? (if you do, what spec)
do you have an suitable soundcard ?
do you have dj software ? (if you do what one)
(again) do you have headphones ?
also,
do you need speakers/amps etc
the more info you give, the more help/opinions/thoughts you will get.
ps. welcome to the club, i remember when i hadn't a clue about gear or what to buy when i was starting out.
