It took me a while to wrap my brain around beatgrids when I first started. When I was using Final Scratch I never used them, just did it by ear. A little practice and you'll be burning through them. Just read, and re-read, and watch, and try. Trust me.

Dvls has it on one. Practice, practice, practice. Soon it will click like two pieces of 2x4 LEGO.

How often do you guys have to warp tracks in Ableton before gridding them in Traktor? I've gotten to work gridding like crazy in Traktor but I feel like for 1 in 5 songs or so Traktor tends to stray off the course of the beat.

i learned to grid in ableton, its way harder and [therefore?] a better way to learn

Ive only found a few tracks out of the hundreds ive gridded which actually need correcting in ableton. Ignoring tracks with multiple BPM of course.

I've had about 10 tracks that needed adjusting being that they were recorded live and the beatgrids didnt line up...ie The Smiths & Joy Division.

Alright then, maybe my gridding needs to get a little more meticulous. Nothing like gridding up a complex track then dropping it in with the End Loop / Phase Sync macro... mmm
