Noted.
What type of fader/mixer is it?? And what exactly is the problem with the fader(sound bleeding, cracking)
I don't know much about electronics etc. man, but when an electrical surface gets wet while a current running through it, it's more than likely that the wiring will fry somewhere. If your fader still isn't working after all the cleaning, it's pretty likely it's been damaged.
Maybe someone with better knowledge could give you some more optimistic news?
I've burned thru so many faders in my days of scratching, that it's not funny....that is, until the "newer" faders came about. Did you check the X-Fader like I suggested? Kidfromkibbly is correct, you may want to just grab another, cause chances are, even if its cleaned, it will surely reoccur in a month from now.
The best thing to do is not to "fix" a dead fader, it's to maintain a working fader.
or just get one of those fancy magnetic faders from rane that are like freakin' bricks.
This makes me think of PaddyDJ on the NI boards, replaced the VCI-100 crossfader with a Pro X-Fade.
I have to ask, again due to my ignorance of electronics, could sturdier quality line faders be installed to replace the factory VCI-100 faders?
Paddy is my DJ.
